The compact and reliable device RS1221RP+, with a depth of only 38 cm, is designed for systems with limited space. RS1221RP+ delivers over 100,000 IOPS for random read operations with 4 KB blocks and a throughput of 2315 MB/s for sequential reads, enabling it to handle resource-intensive workloads in environments that utilize large volumes of data. RS1221RP+ also provides an additional level of protection thanks to redundant power supplies.

Redundant power. Eliminate data and service availability degradation due to power supply failures on a single distribution channel or power distribution unit.
Maximum service availability. When paired with an identical device, Synology High Availability ensures automatic failover between two clustered servers in minutes in the event of a server failure. This minimizes downtime.
Data integrity and protection. ECC memory and the Btrfs file system enhance reliability and allow for snapshots to simplify data protection and prevent corruption.

Increase IOPS for read and write by 16 times or more with NVMe or SATA SSD caching compared to hard disk arrays (NVMe SSD caching can be enabled with the PCIe M2D20 or E10M20-T1 expansion card and two Synology SNV3400/3500 M.2 NVMe SSDs. SATA read/write caching can be enabled with two Synology SAT5200 2.5-inch SSDs.)
Support for 10GbE network cards. Improve I/O performance with faster network operations using SFP+ or RJ-45.
Storage capacity expansion. Ability to use up to 12 drive bays with the RX418 expansion module.

Hyper Backup. A comprehensive backup and recovery solution provides an additional level of data protection. Create backup destinations locally, on another Synology device, rsync servers, or in cloud storage systems such as Google Drive, Dropbox, S3-compatible storage, and Synology C2 Storage – a backup destination designed for Synology devices. Snapshot Replication. Easily schedule backups of shared folders and LUNs at specific points in time. The recovery point objective (RPO) is just 5 minutes, and recovery is completed in seconds. Configure replication and failover to other Synology storage systems for low recovery time objectives and minimal service interruption.
Protect the entire office with Active Backup. With Active Backup Suite, administrators can easily protect the entire IT infrastructure by backing up critical data to the NAS, including Windows and Linux workstations and servers, file servers, VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines, as well as Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace accounts.
